Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the most silly looking of them all?

Look at all that fur! Bud could almost pass as a long haired cat if you only saw him laying down like this.

With our first 90-plus-degree days yesterday and today here in New York, a lot of that fur is going to end up on the floor, the couch and my bed if I don’t sneak in some brief brushing sessions when I can:

For a brief moment, since it is April 1, I considered writing a post about how the Somalian pirates who briefly “bought” Buddy a few years ago returned with an offer I couldn’t refuse, so I sent the little dude packing for the pirate life once again.

But then I remembered the emails I got, including one from a woman who said she was heartbroken by my betrayal of the Budster.

So no April Fools’ Day, because as fun as it is to imagine Bud joining a pirate crew, I can’t have some people thinking I’d abandon him. He’s here to stay!

Wordless Wednesday: The Retrofuturistic Rocket Cars Of Rural New York

They appear out of nowhere on a scenic route in New York’s Catskill mountains, beckoning drivers to stop and check out the rest of the wonders inside the nearby shop.

A few years ago on the way back from the Catskills, a scenic mountain belt in low-central New York, I spotted this beauty from the road and had to stop:

It’s a heavily modified, custom Dodge Magnum crafted by artist Steve Heller. The parcel of land I’d almost passed houses his shop, Fabulous Furniture On 28, one of the most unique spots you can find in the state, if not the country.
