    1. Cat gravity and cat spatial entanglement, in which they somehow can take up the majority of a king size bed despite being like 11 pounds.

Did you ever see videos of that Russian couple who have a puma as a pet? They claim he was a rescue. I don’t know if that’s true. But he’s incredibly affectionate and does all the same stuff domestic cats do, so they’ve got this 200 pound cat laying on them, making biscuits, rubbing against them and all that.

      1. The Russian couple have a lady black panther – Luna. I love those videos especially when the whole family goes for a walk in their snowy woods. They have a very large doggy too, and he and Luna are the best of pals. They’re a loving family.

      2. They have a leopard or a jaguar? If so, that’s insane. Leopards are right behind tigers as notorious man-eaters. Not quite Champawat tigress levels of insanity, but there was a leopard in India that killed some 200 people, and they are unpredictable. Jaguars are generally chill with people, but I still wouldn’t want one as a pet.

It’s Russia, so you never know what’s real, but their story about how they got Messi wouldn’t be plausible elsewhere.

Anyway, I hope they know what they’re doing!

      1. Of course! You know I think you do a great job not only with the historical aspect of things, but also the photographs.

You even got me thinking I should probably do some posts about unique things here in New York. Growing up here, we take it for granted, but there’s so much to see.

      2. It would be interesting to get your take on the best of New York. But only if your master gives you permission to write about subjects other than him and his feline friends! 😺

      3. Manhattan has changed so much in the last few years that it would be a good thing for me to revisit places too. COVID, the retail apocalypse, the immigration crisis and bad governance have rendered formerly vibrant neighborhoods ghost towns, but there are also new parks and public spaces, like the massive artificial island park in the Hudson.

I will head out with my camera when it gets warmer. The city always looks most beautiful in the summer and at Christmas time, as well as at night. It sounds ridiculous, but one of my favorite things to do when I was younger, after going our drinking, was to wander Manhattan with my friends in search of gargoyles on old buildings. There are a ton of them if you know where to look, and it’s a great way to appreciate architecture.

      4. Interesting that you mention the retail apocalypse. It’s like that here too. A couple of weeks ago we visited our nearest city – about 10 miles south of here – for the first time in a few years, and it was dead, a pale shadow of its former self. It never was a New York City (obviously!) but it had a bit of life to it. Now, however, it’s sad, run-down mess. We won’t be going back any time soon.

Looking forward to seeing some of your gargoyles. We’ve only been to NYC once – just a few months before 911 – and gargoyles didn’t feature much on our itinerary!

    1. Buddy is outraged — outraged! — that you would suggest he takes ‘roids! He demands an apology and turkey to show you’re sincere.

Speaking of Los Gatos, they’ve been awfully quiet lately. They must be planning something…

      1. Sincerest apologies to Buddy! However, Tux heard the word on the street that the Gatos are distributing more than catnip!! No turkey is available but will he accept Blue Buffalo treats?
