Lost Photos Of Kitten Bud!
From summer 2014 when Bud was about five months old.
Bud says: “Derp derp derp! I’m a bug-eyed kitten! Derp!”Bud says: “Now THIS is a more regal image befitting my status as a handsome feline!”Bud says: “Here I am in action! As you can see, I was ripped but not quite as meowscular as I am now.
This was on 88th St. in Manhattan, if you can believe it. A stone’s throw from Gracie Mansion, where the mayor lives. My brother lived on the first floor of a nearby building and had that ultra rare Manhattan commodity, a small backyard. Bud spent the day with Cosmo the dog, chasing insects and working up an appetite for filet mignon from the grille. He had so much fun that day.
Your Little Buddy is a beautiful little kitten. Of course, he is unbelievably gorgeous at every age. Love hearing (and seeing) LB at every stage of his life💟💟💟
He had health problems when I adopted him. He was sickly, had a major limp on one of his front paws, and yeah, ear mites or something. I gave him baths when he was younger. I was also worried about his eyes, but the vet said he was okay.
Yet the thing that struck me was despite his limp and the other ailments, nothing seemed to bother him and he was so happy and full of life.
I was also not a great cat dad. I made some really stupid mistakes and despite reading a ton about cat/kitten care, there were things I didn’t grasp until I learned the hard way.
You don’t even want to know the mistakes i made in my cat rescue days! In the end, every mistake i made had a happy ending and i learned from my mistakes.
He was such a little cutie. I don’t have as many photos of Oreo as a little guy as I wish I did. He started out in life with a dog sister I rescued named Patti Poo and (Yes, she came with her name) for some odd reason, she was deathly afraid of me taking photos at times. I never knew why, but it impacted me taking tons of photos of them. I’m so glad you’re in possession of these photos of the little Buddy. They are truly priceless. I lost Patti just before the pandemic in 2019…I try to document Oreo’s life today, but as you and I both know since they’re indoor cats, their landscapes can be monotonous and photo ops are limited… still we try…Best to you and Buddy today and everyday 🐾🐾
Not as many as I would like as I took most of them with an iPhone 4 with a really shitty camera, and I lost most of the data when the phone got wet. But enough to have good memories.
You’re right about it being tough to get novel photos indoors. Catnip helps though!
You and I have been through this! Buddy loves the stuff! While it does zero to Oreo. I tried so many brands, and you and Gilda suggested Silvervine and again zilch. He likes to attack the television occasionally. He apparently wants to kill certain moving objects on the screen…However, he’ll leap to alert me of a bug, but he’s left the killing (and screaming and occasional crying) to me and this my friend will not be photographed! I have video and images of TV kills though, so there’s that…I’m sorry you’ve lost some memories and yes, the older phone cameras weren’t as great and things got lost and didn’t transfer as smoothly as they do now. Take care you two,. I love the photos you’ve gotten on here tonight. He was a baby boss even then.
Apologies, I do remember. Supposedly up to a third of cats don’t respond to catnip, although I remember reading something recently about that and IIRC there may be an alternative. I’ll see if I can find the story again.
I never want an apology from you! If there’s every an alternative you know of, let me know, otherwise enjoy your day with the Buddy. He’s just too good, and absolutely happy to have you, like the rest of us, but for Buddy just multiply that love by my many snacks, scritches and rubs and heartbeats…xo 🐾🐾
LMAO!! A cat named Cosmo i catsit loves to get in front of tv most of the time. Watching old Superman with George Reeves and he followed that cape every time he flew. Hilarious cat.
No, really? So small and innocent.

Yeah I think “I wanna give him a hug!” and then I remember what a terrible idea that is.

OMG!! So cute!!Did he have ear mites? Looks like his inner ears are dirty. All street cats come with ear mites and other stuff.

This is why he was my teacher as well.

I’m lucky to have him too even though he attacked me yesterday. I said in an upset voice: “Bud, what the hell are you doing?”
And he paused, apparently thought “Yeah, what AM I doing?” and did not resume his attack on my leg.
Progress.

Me too! Unfortunately he’s not a very huggable cat. I do get to hold him sometimes when he lays down on my chest, purrs and falls asleep.

So cute. And he looks so innocent, even though we both know he’s guilty!
