MeowTalk, an iOS/Android app that aims to translate your meows using a machine learning algorithm, is getting a new publicity push after a recent update. The app has proven particularly popular in Japan, a nation of cat lovers.
What do you think about MeowTalk?

“You’re telling me there’s a good chance my human understood me calling her a dim-witted biped who’s stingy with snacks?” – Midnight, 7, office supervisor

“Finally, a device that can translate all my loving utterances at 5 a.m. when my bowl’s empty!” – Cleo, 5, cushion tester

“If an app is translating our meows, then why do our humans still stink at giving us massages?” – Andre, 2, faucet operator

“You know what this means, don’t you? If my humans overheard me discussing plans for the feline takeover of Earth, I’m going to have to smother them in their sleep.” – Dragorth the Destroyer, 4, generalissimo

“Sometimes I like to meow in gibberish just to mess with the humans. LOL! Wait, how can this app translate Japanese meows AND American meows?” – Zelda, 3, princess

“CHECK IT OUT, THERE’S A KITTEN WHO LOOKS JUST LIKE ME BEHIND THE GLASS! HEY, STOP IMITATING ME! STOP THAT! IT’S REALLY ANNOYING! HEY!” – Christian, 3 months, archaeologist kitten
Life is so much better when you give them what they want. I have long-term guilt from not being at my former cats beck and call.
I promised my Goobi that this would be different.

Spunkmeyer was up a tree, literally, and my husband got him down safely. Very little blood! (all my husband’s from SM hanging on for dear life!) And then we deposited him in our kitty condo and gave him food and water. Finally he was ready for “the takeover” which went rather smooth on his side. Our 15 year old Tortie was not amused by him or the fact that he had moved in. She hissed at him for the rest of her life which wasn’t long. Her thyroid gave out and she quit eating! It was so sad but SM tried to help. He was with her most of the day that my husband knew he needed to let her go. Sad to say goodbye to dear friends but we are both glad we had the Big Guy (SM 20lbs) to help the pain! So SM is now officially Ruler!

He sounds like a special little dude and he came into your life at exactly the right time.

It doesn’t take much to keep cats happy. I’m sure if you gave your former cat attention and affection, he/she was happy.

He probably does meow gibberish just to mess with me sometimes. There are times when he’s meowing insistently, yet he’s got a bowl full of fresh food, a water bowl full of fresh water, he’s had snacks, he’s had plenty of attention and play, his litter box is clean, and I can’t figure out what he wants.

Pretty much figured that’s what it was lol. He’s developed a habit of running around the apartment and meowing loudly before bed lately. Maybe he’s telling potential intruders not to mess with him and his considerable meowscles.
