Happy Turkey Day, Hehehe!

On Thanksgiving we eat a lot of turkey.

A Very Special Message From Buddy:

Back in 1621, the pilgrims and the Native Americans got together and ate turkey, and all was right with the world.

Now in 2023, I eat all the turkey, and all is right in the world. Hehehe!

I wish you a happy Turkey Day, and may you eat so much turkey that you nap for hours afterward with a comfortable human to use as your pillow. That’s what I’ll be doing! Because this year Big Buddy’s relatives have the COVID, which means Big Buddy isn’t going anywhere, which means I have turkey and Big Buddy, and turkey. All the turkey that humans were going to eat? I will eat it! Muahaha!

Don’t forget to give your cats turkey too!

Your friend,

Buddy

P.S. – I love turkey!

  1. My MIL is gifting us a 20 pound turkey … we usually have a 10 pound bird. I’d love to invite the Buddies for dinner but they’d have to travel a bit.
In any case, happy Thanksgiving to all!

      1. 🙂 Buddy’s more than welcome to the bird! It’s far too big for us and the cats. In fact, leftovers will go to the local raccoons.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, the little guy and your family, too!

    1. Thanks, Maribelle. I tried leaving a comment on your post about Smashmouth but couldn’t. Maybe just a WordPress glitch but figured you should know. I’ve been rocking out to all sorts of 90s stuff lately.

      1. tried to write a warm greeting and got hoisted by technology…so, i had been planning to spend a quiet day at home then discovered that my car race loving, cancer suffering, slave to 2
kitties bff, had no plans so i’ll bring him some of his favorite bbq-seems not everyone loves turkey as well as you…sorry about the covid but my worst memories are thanksgiving in a restaurant and some of my best are being with my furry family without the obligatory socializing so i commend you to the gods of thanksgiving and invoke their kindness and blessing for your wonderful day

      2. Thanks Dee, that’s very nice of you to bring dinner to your friend. You’re right it’s not too bad to have a holiday without relatives, although I count myself lucky that I look forward to seeing my extended family at gatherings. I know a lot of people don’t like their families and some need to drink just to get through it, but my family is refreshingly normal and free of drama. I’ll see them on Christmas Eve and Christmas anyway. Have a happy Thanksgiving BBQ!

  2. Ahah! Once again, AI is caught on the act of falsifying reality. Buddy sitting with a platter of untouched turkey in front of him, adorably gazing into the camera?? Well? Buddy the world’s biggest turkey fan???
Yup, that’s what I thought. An AI created family photo. You’re very good at this!

    1. Happy Thasgivig, Susubaru! It’s a photo of Buddy used as a source image and run through AI to add the turkey and plates, then edited in Pixlr, because you’re right, there’s no way he’d just pose for the camera with turkey in front of him. 🙂 I’d end up with blurry photos of him tearing through the turkey and then rolling on his back, his stomach sticking out from the good stuff, demanding I serve up catnip as dessert.

    2. We need a family photo! Not of Thanksgiving (no family left on either sides) but a nice portrait of Tim, myself and our child, Spunkmeyer (alias “rescued coyote muffins”) would be cool! Gotta get someone not in the family to snap the picture! SM hates being held (stifles his creativity he says) so it will be interesting!

  3. Oh, my gosh! I momentarily forgot that Buddy loves turkey.
What a special day for you both. Hope that Big Buddy gets at least one serving of turkey without Little Buddy getting in his plate.
And very thankful to have you both in my life.

    1. Little Bud gets it all! I went vegetarian in 2014 so he’s the only carnivore here…although that doesn’t stop him from sticking his face in my food all the time. Even when I’m eating cheese and cut some up for him, I have to give him cheese from my plate to prove that his cheese and my cheese are the same thing, otherwise he thinks I’m holding out on the good cheese lol.

Happy Thanksgiving, Susan, and I’m grateful to have you here as well. I hope you enjoy a nice day with your family.

      1. What are you having trouble with, specifically? If you can describe it, maybe I can help.

A while ago WordPress changed to a new system called “blocks,” but the good news is that you can ignore it entirely.

When you start a new post, click the black button with the + in the body of the post and type in “Classic” in the search bar, which will bring up an option that says Classic.

Click on it and it will change your post to the classic editor where you simply type in your text and all the options you need — adding photos, bold/italic text, etc — is up at the top.

That makes it much easier. Also, a lot of people don’t fill out tags and categories because they think it’s a waste of time, but it is how WordPress categorizes your blog and how other people find you.

You don’t have to get crazy, but even simple tags like “cat blog” and “cat stories” can help people find your blog.

        I hope that helps.

      2. Ok. But this 72 year old brain is tired! I will try to do my best but I am so…At least Tim will have Spunkmeyer! .. We just lost a dear friend from cancer. I do admit I am scared now… But please let Little Buddy and Spunkmeyer. Still be buddies, ok?
I would live to follow the blog while I can, ok? Little Buddy you are a life saver!!!

      3. I’m sorry to hear about your friend. 😦 Of course Buddy and Spunkmeyer can be buddies! They can kick back, eat some turkey and crack out the ‘nip.

It looks like you’ve got the basics down. I will help in any way I can. I should also mention that you can edit your “About me” page from the main WordPress menu in the CMS. Thats considered a “Page” rather than a blog post, so you just have to click on Pages and you’ll see the list.

Anything else, just ask. It’s not so bad even if it looks intimidating at first, plus it’s nice to have a space to write.
