  1. This could not have come in at a better time, I play the drums, and in my “drum room”, the door was shut – (it’s an electronic kit, so no neighbour issues), and even through the headphones, I could hear the shouting of Bella when I rushed to open the door I got the stern look, and she strutted off making the point that she did not want to come in but wanted the door open. All doors in the house are normally left open ( ie not clicked shut), and she jumps up and pushes them open with her pawas – it’s beautiful to watch! I have printed off Buddy’s policy and put it on the inside of the door, so I am in no further doubt about future “door policy” Bella thanks Buddy enormously !!

    1. Those electronic kits are spiffy. I know exactly what you mean, I have my guitar set up direct-in to my computer where I use a signal processor (Guitar Rig 5) as amp/FX, which allows me to play and record completely silently and avoid pissing off the neighbors. My Marshall amp has been collecting dust unused for years now.

As for recording with GR5, no one can tell the difference, especially in the mix, and you don’t have to go to the trouble of mic-ing an amp, which can be a huge pain in the ass. Same deal with electronic drums, you don’t have to run three or four mics for the snare, hi hat, kick, etc. and you get them all on separate channels if you input to a DAW.

I’m glad Bella is finding Buddy’s policies useful!

    2. My client has a plaque on wall that says: Rules 1- 10 for you humans. And has all 10 rules written. Rule one is keep our house clean at all times. 🤣🤣🤣

    1. You are a GOOD WOMAN!!! As Spunkmeyer would say while laughing hysterically (as he does at his own jokes) “You are the Pick of the Litter!” Well, at least he entertains himself sometimes…

      1. Have you seen photos of cats in bathroom sinks and tubs? NO PRIVACY FOR THOSE CAT OWNERS! 🤣🤣🤣🤣Not to mention the paws under the doors trying to get in.

      2. Bud is big on the “paw under the door” thing, which he does while mewing in his baby-like voice until I feel terrible and let him in.

  2. I tried their blog and got the same thing 4 or 5 times! Nothing! A commercial for their new food.in English, probably the same in another language or maybe its just written backwards. I didn’t check that.

  3. By the way, my husband loved the picture of Buddy with the Queen! He hardly ever laughs at pictures but the fact that Buddy got in to see her was pretty good! (Of course he thought it was real, didn’t everyone?)

    1. I’m glad your husband got a laugh out of it. I wrote two posts about Queen Elizabeth knighting Buddy and then making him an earl, they’re in the archives if you search “Queen Elizabeth”

Who’s the next famous person Buddy should hang out with?

  4. My cat Lydia – probably the most memorable of all the cats I’ve had – since she was basically Bart Simpson in a cat suit, didn’t mind being in a room by herself with the door shut, as long as she didn’t have to spend hours in the room. However, if I was in a room, any room, with the door shut, that was NOT acceptable, and she’d bang on the door endlessly.

    1. I wonder if it’s feline FOMO: If humans go into a room and shut the door, there must be amazing things happening and kitty wants in on the fun.

Or maybe it’s just natural curiosity, or a desire to know everything that’s going on in their territory.

  5. My boy Archie hates it when I shut him out of my room. He’ll lay on the other side of the door and pulls out the carpet threads from where the carpets meet. There’s little tan carpet fibers all over the floor and a lovely looking hole where the carpet used to be.

He also tries to push the door open (my door doesn’t close right so I have to use a door stop) and it’s so funny to see just how much the little stinker moved the door. 🤣

      1. Tell me about it!

It was great when we first got Archie and his little Sister the Bean last year when they were kittens. They didn’t know how to open doors then. Too small and not very bright. But then one day, Archie saw his big Bro Meow Meow boot my door open. He’s been trying to perfect his technique ever since!

      2. Have they been doing the thing where they wedge their back feet against the door frame and turn? Bud was very good at that for a while and now I think he’s too fat to pull it off.

It’s definitely diet time for him, and he’s not happy about it.

Meow Meow sounds like a bad influence on the kiddos!

      3. Sorry I didn’t get back to answer sooner, but Meow Meow isn’t really a bad kitty. He learned how to open my door from my Mom’s cat, Mr. Sneaky (that cat was a ninja AND a magician!).

Meow Meow’s blind and deaf now. He didn’t even know he was teaching these 2 stinkers a new trick! He was just making his way to my room to see his Mama.

  6. Not totally confident I know the “appropriate side” according to Little Buddy….. I would hate to make a mistake and end up offending the little guy. Plus I hear quite enough “incessant meowing” at home. Apparently my own darling little Buddy finds my behavior offensive frequently. Just tonight I arrived home way too late and unfortunately triggered the incessant meowing response. Which meant I had to do plenty of petting and reassuring to get back in Panther Guy’s Grace’s. Finally succeeded and my Little Buddy is comfortably napping 😊

    1. He was just letting you know tardiness is not acceptable and he expects you to be home to give him affection.

But hey, that’s a good thing! It means he really loves you. I feel the same way when Bud wakes me up at night just for scritches and nuzzling his head against my face.
