For PITB’s inaugural Wordless Wednesday, which is turning out to be a somewhat Wordy Wednesday, we’re celebrating Nibbles, the pet cat of protagonist V in Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk is an open world video game set in Night City, a sprawling dystopian city-state. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to live in the perpetual gloom of Blade Runner’s rainy, neon-soaked future, Cyberpunk 2077 is as close as you’re going to get.
Notably, you don’t start the game with Nibbles, who is initially a stray living in the filthy hallways of your apartment building and subsisting on garbage. You’ve got to find him, feed him real food and convince him you’ll be a worthy servant, because even trash-eating strays have standards.

After you rescue Nibbles, he makes himself at home in your apartment, faithfully greets you when you return, protests when you use the shower, and meows impatiently for yums. He also enjoys lounging in your laundry basket.
You can pose with Nibbles anywhere in Night City for screenshots.

Finally, some screenshots I took of Nibbles, V, Johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves) and Reed (Idris Elba):

Not into games but i discovered a great sci- fi futuristic show called Love, Death and Robots. Sad. Funny. Tragic. Highly recommended. Waiting for season 4. Has cats of course.

I wrote about it back in 2019:
And a few more times when they released sequels.
Two of the first season’s episodes, Beyond the Aquila Rift and Zima Blue, are based on short stories by Alastair Reynolds, and Sonny’s Edge is based on a story by Peter Hamilton.
They’re among the best modern science fiction writers, known for incredible imagination and world building.
The Love, Death and Robots people just released a new series in the same style on Amazon Video. It’s called Secret Level, and each short is based on a game. I’ve seen the episodes based on Warhammer 40k, Armored Core and Exodus, which were all really solid, but I haven’t watched the rest yet. No cats in Secret Level, unfortunately, at least that I’m aware of.

😁👍There should not be a spoiler alert on. Humans should know how this world will end up. Or are they smart enough?

Well i wondered where Idris Elba was, since we haven’t seen him in any movies for awhile …

He was in an Apple TV series about a passenger plane hijacking. The last time I saw him was in the 2023 Luther movie, Fallen Sun.
Apparently he’s doing another Luther movie. As long as they continue making them, I’ll watch them. The TV series was awesome, Fallen Sun was great, and the Luther stuff just has a completely different vibe than police dramas in the US.

Me too, Luther is awesome. If you like that, you’ll probably like Slow Horses. The movie about man-eating lions that he did was also pretty good, but not all cat lovers will like it since it does have violence done by and to big cats. There are “good” lions as well in the film, but the focus is on the man-eaters.

No thanks on movie that kills lions. I prefer the lion kill the humans.
