Happy Fourth of July from Little Buddy the Cat and Big Buddy the Human!

There’s a park less than a block from Casa de Buddy, and it’s the site of my town’s annual fireworks show, so Buddy handled the noise stoically as he always does. He’ll run screaming from a vacuum, but he’s a pro at ignoring fireworks thanks to experiencing them up close and loud every year since kittenhood.

I’ll be headed to a family barbecue, then the proper July 4 fireworks show in the neighboring town with my nieces. The Budster and I wish our readers well, and we hope your feline overlords are similarly unbothered if you happen to live in close proximity to a fireworks show. Happy 4th!

  1. Happy 4th of July to you both!!! its voting day in the UK so Bella and Bertie will of course be voting and their vote is for the “extra treats and more fuss” party – who of course have a massive overwelming majority in this house.

    1. Happy voting day, John! Lots of interesting developments over there for sure, looks like Keir Starmer will be Larry the Cat’s newest official servant at No. 10 Downing St. We should start taking bets on Larry’s 7th prime minister!

  4. Good to hear from Big Buddy! Glad LB handles fireworks with aplomb. My little panther guy is terrified of fireworks and is also appalled that this dreadful human activity is allowed to continue in spite of repeated protests. I’m staying home today and tonight bc I can’t stand the idea of my furry friend suffering alone with no hooman servant around for reassurance (and turkey snacks!). I hope the Buddies and all kitty households everywhere have a fun and enjoyable 4th of July!!🥳😻
